Founding Partners · El Tiempo Latino Baltimore · Closes November 30, 2026

A new way to do local news.
Made in Baltimore.

El Tiempo Latino has served Latino Washington for 35 years. We are opening a Baltimore newsroom that publishes the way this audience reads now: daily, social-first, on video, in Spanish. The national networks cover Baltimore from Washington. We will be in Baltimore, and we are looking for the first partners to fund the twelve-month campaign that builds the audience.

The growth campaign

Baltimore's Latino community has grown faster than any other group in the city. We are building for where that audience already spends its time: a daily newsletter, video shows on Instagram, and reporting produced in the city rather than filed from another one.

El Tiempo Latino was selected for the Google News Initiative Growth Catalyst program, in the top 7% of 162 applicants, with funding directed at this Baltimore expansion. We are coached through the build by Blue Engine Collaborative. That support pays for the newsroom. Partners pay for the campaign that puts it in front of Baltimore, and they are the names on it through the first year.

Run on our own audience

We spend the first quarter buying attention and turning it into followers and subscribers. By the last quarter most of the delivery comes from an audience that is ours, which is the point of funding a launch rather than buying placements on one. A partner's brand is on every stage of that curve.

The offer

Founding Partners

What a partner gets, what it delivers, what it costs, and by when.

Where your brand lives

A founding partner is inside the campaign, on every surface, for the whole first year.

Why the delivery holds from month one

The guarantees below do not wait for the new Baltimore channels to grow. Most of the delivery is paid distribution across the metro area, aimed with the first-party data El Tiempo Latino and Tiempo News already hold on Latino audiences around Baltimore, which is what makes the targeting accurate on day one. It reaches households whether or not they follow the new accounts yet. El Tiempo Latino's established Maryland audience, built over 35 years, carries the rest. Organic delivery from the Baltimore channels compounds on top of that floor as the year runs.

Every campaign launches with variants, testing which topics and framings hold attention in this specific market, and spend concentrates on what performs. Reporting is monthly, with a final report reconciling delivery against the guarantee.

The ask

We are raising $100,000 to fund the first year of the campaign. There are five founding positions in total, and when they are taken the program closes.

A new bus rapid transit line is easy to tune out when nothing explains what changes for you. We built clarity-first creative that answered two questions fast, what is different and what to do next, and ran it on Instagram with print reinforcement until it converted into action. Baltimore starts from the same place: an audience that has not heard of the thing yet.
